Mindfulness helps your brain in its ever changing state (neuroplasticity) to focus and learn new concepts which in turn, creates new neural connections (synapses) in the brain.
What was once thought of science fiction has now become science fact, thanks to those brave souls, who against all odds got their research published. What eastern philosophy has espoused throughout many millennia, western medicine is now recognising, understanding and utilising in what has become known as “modern medicine.”
Changing from a negative mindset to a positive mindset is done in small incremental steps. Some of the phrases that have helped me on my journey are listed below.
- “The thoughts you think are the life you live” – Anonymous
- “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent” – Eleanor Roosevelt
- “What You Practice Grows Stronger” – Shauna Shapiro PhD
- “Get the ANT’s (Automatic Negative Thoughts) out of your brain” – Dr. Daniel Amon
- “Neurones that fire together, wire together.” – Norman Doidge PhD
- “Like attracts like” – Illusions by Richard Bach
- “Never lose your childlike enthusiasm” – Under a Tuscan sun the movie
- “One cannot fill a cup that is already full” – old Chinese Zen saying
- “Yesterday I was clever and I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise and I want to change myself.” – Rumi
- “Tis nothing good nor bad, only thought makes it so.” William Shakespeare
- “We are all of us in this together. If you should see yourself as superior or inferior then you have work to do. For it is in the middle that our human community shines, it is in the middle that solutions are found and it is in the middle that we thrive. Look to find the middle ground and it is there we will find our answers.” – Corinne Bozsoky
