Y.O.U.

Young and Old United

You who are young and full of hopes and dreams, take heed from the old who have already seen. You are young and brimming with questions, believing you know all the answers. Surely the wisdom of your youth shall prevail in the quest of humanity.

You who are old and have seen so much, worn down by time and ready to give up. Listen to the youth for they see the future. It is theirs to see and what we have done with our time here, has left them disillusioned and full disdain for the choices we’ve made. Their hope has been highjacked by avarice and greed and now they are angry, very angry indeed.

Let us unite both young and old, for it is together that our future unfolds. Let us learn from our past and all that has been done, the sins of the fathers should not be visited upon the their sons.

We are not destined to repeat the failures of our past but rather learn from them and let go of the need to be right at all costs. It is our tolerance and humanity, our love for one another that shines through the darkness and will allow us to prevail.

To the grandparents and grandchildren, I send you this wish… may you always see each other through the eyes of one another. May you meet in the middle when becoming adults, looking forwards and backwards and never losing site of the fact that we are united. Young. Old. United. That is Y.O.U.
