A conversation between Hope and Fear

By Corinne Bozsoky (March 25th 2020)

Hope and Fear lived side by side in their community on a tree lined street and one day Fear knocked on Hopes door. “Hello Fear, what can I do for you?” said Hope. Fear replied, “I need more space, so I am going to tear down your house and take over your land.” Hope said, “but this is my house and you cannot live here.” Fear said “oh yes I can, I will destroy your house and I will let everyone know that you are to blame, no one will come to your aid and I will take everything.” Hope just laughed at Fear and said, “do your worst Fear, for I live in the heart of every being and we shall overcome.” Fear started a campaign of hate, derision, need and untold suffering upon the community but on each door that he knocked it was answered by Hope. Try as he might, he could not find one house other than his own where he could reside.

So Hope and Fear continued to live side by side in their community. Hope was invited into every home, ever gracious and giving to all in need, spreading joy, happiness and abundance to all.

Fear stayed in his house, ever watchful for the opportunity to spread his unhappiness but in the end, he just couldn’t complete with Hope.

When Fear knocks on your door, just let Hope answer, she will always smile in the face of Fear and send him on his way.
